DCM Shriram has commissioned new downstream chemical capacity at its Jhagadia site in Gujarat, strengthening its chlorine value chain and expanding its specialty chemicals portfolio.
The company has started operations at a new aluminium chloride facility with a capacity of 100 tonnes per day.
The first line of a new calcium chloride plant has also become operational, adding approximately 133 tonnes per day of capacity.
The projects form part of a broader capital programme of around ₹310 crore focused on increasing downstream conversion of chlorine into higher-value products.
Aluminium chloride is used across a range of chemical and industrial processes, while calcium chloride has applications in construction, drilling, dust control and other industrial sectors.
The additional capacity allows DCM Shriram to increase integration across its chlorine-based operations and improve utilisation of intermediate chemical streams.
