WABAG Wins Reliance Order Above ₹1,000 Crore for Jamnagar Water Plants

The project includes desalination and remineralisation facilities, with execution planned in phases over 25 months.

VA TECH WABAG has secured an order from Reliance Industries Limited to develop a desalination plant and a remineralisation plant at Jamnagar, Gujarat, according to its announcement dated 27 October 2026.

WABAG classified the contract as a “Mega” domestic order, indicating a value above ₹1,000 crore. The exact contract value was not disclosed.

The desalination plant will have a capacity of 8,400 cubic metres per hour, with seawater reverse-osmosis capacity expandable to 12,600 cubic metres per hour, or approximately 302 million litres per day. The remineralisation plant will have a capacity of 3,000 cubic metres per hour.

WABAG’s scope covers design, engineering, supply, installation, pre-commissioning, commissioning and performance testing.

The treatment systems will include clarification, flotation, ultrafiltration and reverse osmosis, alongside chemical dosing, water storage and pumping infrastructure. The remineralisation facility will use limestone-based treatment.
