ENGIE Commissions 450 MW of Solar Capacity in Rajasthan and Gujarat

The two operational plants are expected to generate approximately 1,000 GWh of electricity annually.

ENGIE has commissioned two solar power plants with a combined capacity of 450 MW in India, according to its announcement on 29 October 2026.

The projects comprise the 250 MW Khaba plant in Barmer, Rajasthan, and the 200 MW Khavda plant in Gujarat’s Rann of Kutch. Both facilities are now fully operational.

The Khaba project, developed through ENGIE’s wholly owned subsidiary Khaba Renewable Energy Private Limited, is expected to generate approximately 650 GWh of electricity annually.

The Khavda facility, located within the Khavda Renewable Energy Park, is expected to produce around 350 GWh annually. It will supply electricity to Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited under a 25-year power purchase agreement.

ENGIE said approximately 80% of the construction workforce across the two developments was hired locally. The announcement did not disclose project costs or individual commissioning dates.
