JK Cement Commissions 0.60 MTPA Wall Putty Plant in Rajasthan

JK Cement has commissioned a new wall putty manufacturing plant with an annual production capacity of 0.60 million tonnes at Nathdwara in Rajasthan.

The new facility forms part of the company’s continuing expansion of its building materials business and increases its manufacturing footprint in the wall putty segment.

The Nathdwara facility has been developed as a greenfield manufacturing unit and adds new production capacity to JK Cement’s existing operations.

Wall putty is used extensively in construction and finishing applications and is an important product within the building materials industry.

The commissioning of the plant comes as construction activity and demand for building materials continue to support capacity additions across India’s cement and construction-materials sector.

The facility includes production and material-handling infrastructure required for manufacturing, processing, packaging and dispatch of wall putty.

JK Cement has been expanding its product portfolio beyond conventional grey cement and into products including wall putty, white cement and other building materials.

The company has also been increasing manufacturing capacity across different locations to support growing demand in domestic markets.

The new Nathdwara facility is expected to strengthen the company’s manufacturing presence in Rajasthan and provide additional capacity for the regional market.

The project also adds to the broader investment taking place across India’s building-materials industry, where manufacturers are increasing capacity and developing specialised products alongside traditional cement production.

With the plant now commissioned, the focus will shift towards production ramp-up and operationalisation of the new capacity.

Grasim Starts Production of CPVC Resin at Vilayat

11 August 2026

Grasim Industries has commenced production of chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC) resin at its manufacturing facility in Vilayat, Gujarat.

The new facility has a production capacity of 50,000 tonnes per annum and forms part of Grasim’s expansion into specialised chemical products.

CPVC resin is used in applications including piping systems, particularly for hot and cold-water distribution, industrial piping and other applications requiring resistance to temperature and corrosion.

The new manufacturing capacity strengthens domestic production capability for CPVC resin and supports the development of India’s downstream plastics and piping industries.

The Vilayat facility is part of Grasim’s broader chemicals business, which includes chlor-alkali and related chemical products.

The company has been expanding its chemicals portfolio and increasing its presence in higher-value specialty materials.

Production of CPVC resin requires specialised process equipment, controlled reaction systems, utilities and process-control infrastructure.

The manufacturing process also requires appropriate systems for raw-material handling, storage, cooling, water management, instrumentation and quality control.

The commissioning of the facility comes at a time when India’s piping and infrastructure sectors continue to see demand from construction, water supply, industrial projects and other applications.

Domestic availability of specialised resins can also support downstream manufacturers by reducing dependence on imported material.

The Vilayat facility is expected to contribute to Grasim’s chemicals portfolio as production is scaled up.

The company continues to invest in its chemical manufacturing infrastructure as part of its wider strategy to expand its presence in value-added materials.
